A Lenten Collect to Receive the Good News

Lord God of all, who is closer to us than our own breath, ready us to hear the good news you proclaim, that we would receive your kingdom and your presence among us and that we would experience your love and protection, emboldening us to live as you have orchestrated your creation to function, through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, world without end. Amen. ‘Now after John was arrested, Jesus came to Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God, and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God has come near; repent, and believe in the good news.”‘ – Mark 1:14-15 What would it be like to pause and receive the good news that God is present and active here and now? Take some time to just be with that reality and the thoughts and feelings it brings up.
