A Lenten Collect to Be Made Strong in the Wilderness

Jesus Christ, you who walked into the domain of the evil one and resisted his wiles, grant us the wisdom and strength to resist the temptations we face, and draw us into places where we can be made strong as you were, able to withstand the lures of ease, pride, and power, through you who ascended to the Father and Holy Spirit to rule in majesty. Amen. ‘He was in the wilderness forty days, tempted by Satan; and he was with the wild beasts; and the angels waited on him.’ – Mark 1:13 How do you feel about being in the wilderness, those places of struggle and emptiness? What would you ask of him that would enable you to keep going?
