Spirit of God, who knows our hearts for you abide in them, show up where we are inordinately attached to the world, and give us strength to let go of those things that keep us from attaching to you, that we be able to let go of those things and receive eternal life in you, through Jesus Christ our Savior, who lives with you and the Father in perfect union, now and forever. Amen. ‘Those who love their life lose it, and those who hate their life in this world will keep it for eternal life.’ – John 12:25 What things are you attached to in your life? What would a list of all your attachments look like? Would you be wiling to create such a list and look it through? Are there things that you’re attached to that perhaps the Spirit is asking you to let go of? What are you receiving from those inordinate attachments, and can God satisfy you in other ways?
