A Lenten Collect to Come into the Light

Loving Lord, who desires that all would know the compassion and love you freely give, grant us the willingness to step out of hiding and come into the light, so that we may be seen and, in your merciful forgiveness, be purified by your grace, through Jesus Christ our Lord, who was lifted up to be seen by all, that in you and the Holy Spirit, all might be transformed into his likeness. Amen. “For all who do evil hate the light and do not come to the light, so that their deeds may not be exposed. But those who do what is true come to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that their deeds have been done in God.” – John 3:20-21 Are there things you hide in your life? Desires, habits, feelings, or thoughts that you bury and keep out of the light for fear of being seen? Is God inviting you to come into the light and be seen in those things? What might it look like for such things to be redeemed into something good?
