Gracious God, whose eyes miss nothing in this world, give us courage to cease from hiding our sins and weaknesses, fearful that we may be caught, shamed, and scourged for our wrongs, but help us to receive your forgiveness and mercy, which alone can bring healing to our souls, through Jesus Christ, your Son our savior. Amen. ‘And this is the judgment, that the light has come into the world, and people loved darkness rather than light because their deeds were evil. For all who do evil hate the light and do not come to the light, so that their deeds may not be exposed.’ – John 3:19-20 Are there things you are nervous or scared to let others know about yourself – things you don’t want to have seen? What is it about yourself that you hide, as we all do? Does anything change when you consider that God sees and already knows about those things yet still loves you?
