Gracious Father, who sees all that we do not, be patient with us when we long for things that are not what we believe them to be, and give us either patience to endure apart from them or strength to endure under them and that in all things we would find our true desires met in you, through Jesus Christ our Lord, who reigns at your right hand in glory in the Holy Spirit. Amen. ‘And they said to him, “Grant us to sit, one at your right hand and one at your left, in your glory.” But Jesus said to them, “You do not know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I drink, or be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?”‘ – Mark 10:37-38
