A Collect to Hear and Understand the Word of God

Father in heaven, who sent light into the world that we might receive that which we most need, help us to hear the words you have spoken into the world as you intend them to be heard, that springs of water would well up within our souls and our joy may be made complete as we join together with you and accomplish together the mission you have ordained for your children, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. ‘While I was with them, I protected them in your name that you have given me. I guarded them, and not one of them was lost except the one destined to be lost, so that the scripture might be fulfilled.
