Spiritual Direction

We don’t go it alone. God made us relational people, and we need one another to help us, remind us, teach us, encourage us. We need the body of Christ, and we need mentors and teachers and just people who listen with us to find the Holy Spirit at work.

Spiritual direction is a ministry where one person meets with another to act as an observer and a companion as we navigate the journey the Lord has set in front of us. Directors listen to people and to the Spirit to help discern where God is and is doing and give space for us to reflect on our lives and our hearts.

“It is easier to find guides, someone to tell you what to do, than someone to be with you in a discerning, prayerful companionship as you work it out yourself. This is what spiritual direction is.”

Eugene H. Peterson

Typical direction sessions last one hour and occur monthly, though there is flexibility, depending on our needs and circumstances.

I have been meeting informally with people for many years, but I have been meeting as a formal spiritual director since 2016. I received a background in spirituality and spiritual direction from Biola University’s Institute for Spiritual Formation and practicum training from Regis College at the Toronto School of Theology, and I am a member of ESDA.

If you would like to meet with me or have questions about spiritual direction, please feel free to contact me. I’d love to have a conversation with you.
