A Lenten Collect to Not Try the Lord’s Patience

Lord of creation, who oversees all that you have made, your patience is great, and your compassion tarries long, but let us not forget that there are limits to even your longsuffering, that we would seek always to move toward you and into your kingdom and receive the good you have prepared for us, through Jesus Christ our Lord, who reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen. “He replied, ‘Sir, let it alone for one more year, until I dig around it and put manure on it. If it bears fruit next year, well and good; but if not, you can cut it down.’” – Luke 13:8-9
