Almighty Father, merciful to us who are broken in our loves, transform our hearts, that we would not be drawn to the broken, passing, toxic things of the world that do not nourish us, and shape our loves and desires to be drawn into the things that you have designed for our good and the good of all your children, through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lived and died and rose for our good and sat down at your right hand in the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen. ‘And this is the judgment, that the light has come into the world, and people loved darkness rather than light because their deeds were evil.’ – John 3:19 How easy is it for you to recognize and admit the things you are drawn to that are destructive or damaging to yourself? If you were to sit down with the Holy Spirit and talk through your loves and desires, what might you discover about yourself, both bad and good? How willing are you to be changed – to give up the things that do not ultimately benefit you or others?
