Gracious Father, whose blessings are for all people, grant us the patience of Simeon, who waited for your appearing and was satisfied when he took the Christ child into his arms, that we would not despair of receiving your blessings, but would hold to the truth that you are faithful and good, through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives with you and the Holy Spirit eternally. Amen. ‘Simeon took him in his arms and praised God, saying, “Master, now you are dismissing your servant in peace, according to your word; for my eyes have seen your salvation, which you have prepared in the presence of all peoples, a light for revelation to the Gentiles and for glory to your people Israel.”‘ – Luke 2:28-32
