God of wisdom, who knows what we need better than we ourselves, let not what we want your ways to be like get in the way of the truth of your ways, that we might step beyond ourselves and see you and your ways clearly and grow to walk not as we desire but as you desire, through Jesus Christ our Lord, who reigns forever in glory with you and the Holy Spirit.
