Rabbi and Master, who walked in our flesh and knows our limitations for you bore them, remind us to take rest and teach us to rest well, that we might not overburden ourselves and be consumed by all we feel we must accomplish, but would respect our nature and find refreshment to take on the work you give us with renewed strength, through you who ascended to the Father and Holy Spirit in glory. Amen. ‘The apostles gathered around Jesus, and told him all that they had done and taught. He said to them, “Come away to a deserted place all by yourselves and rest a while.” For many were coming and going, and they had no leisure even to eat.’ – Mark 6:30-31
