King of kings, whose hand lifts up and destroys nations according to your will, incline our hearts to pray for those whom you have allowed to have authority, that they might be granted wisdom and humility and all kinds of virtue so as to guide the people in peace, justice, and mercy, through Christ our Lord, who reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, world without end. Amen.
