Gracious God, who knows our weaknesses, show us how we ought to nourish our souls, that we would not need to use our good works to profit for ourselves but may do them freely in love as you have loved us, through Jesus our Savior, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
‘They do all their deeds to be seen by others, for they make their phylacteries broad and their fringes long.’ – Matthew 23:5
