A Collect to Learn to Please the Father

Brother Jesus, on whom the Holy Spirit descended like a dove at your baptism, teach us to live as you did on this earth, that the Father in heaven might be well pleased with us and take joy in our lives and our hearts, through you who is alive and reigns from heaven as the firstborn of all creation with the Father and Holy Spirit. Amen. ‘Now when all the people were baptized, and when Jesus also had been baptized and was praying, the heaven was opened, and the Holy Spirit descended upon him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven, “You are my Son, the Beloved; with you I am well pleased.”‘ – Luke 3:21-22
