A Collect to Eschew Things that Do Not Last

God who was and is and is to come, we too often devote ourselves to things that do not last. Turn our eyes to things that endure and that will meet our deepest needs, that we would spend ourselves on the eternal and not waste ourselves on what means ultimately nothing, through Jesus Christ our Lord, who gave himself for our sake that we would know you through the Holy Spirit.
