Son of Man, who was tempted and yet did not sin, keep us from giving in to pride and the search for the highest place, that in contentment we would fulfill the righteousness that you desire and trust that the Father will give us what we truly need at the right time, through you who now abides in perfect joy with the Father and Holy Spirit above. Amen.
‘John would have prevented him, saying, “I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?” But Jesus answered him, “Let it be so now, for it is proper for us in this way to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he consented.’ – Matthew 3:14-15
