Almighty God, whose nature is far above our own, show us where we are tempted to exalt or think highly of ourselves, that we would not use our supposed greatness as a defense against our fears and so fall painfully when we stumble, through Jesus our redeemer, who with you and the Holy Spirit forgives us our errors and deals gently with our weaknesses in great love.
