Gracious Lord, who walked the path of the cross before us, help us to set aside not all desires, but those that are rooted in sin and destruction, that we would be willing to follow you along whatever road, trusting that it leads to life with you, through you who is the way to the Father through the Holy Spirit, with whom you live in perfect love forever and ever.
