Lord God, who has been rejected by your creations since the beginning, let us not be surprised or dismayed when people mock us for doing your will or living according to your ways and power, knowing that they are not rejecting us but you and that our task is love as you love and let others respond as they choose, through Jesus Christ our Lord, who was despised and rejected but received new life and now lives with you and the Holy Spirit in glory.
