A Collect for Openness to the Unexpected

Great Teacher, who gives wisdom to all who ask, help us not to become trapped by faulty assumptions, but be open to you working in ways we do not expect and able to see you always at work in the world around us, through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives in eternity with you and the Holy Spirit. Amen. ‘His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned; he was born blind so that God’s works might be revealed in him.’ – John 9:2-3
