Almighty God, who knows the thoughts and intentions of all, give us humility and honesty to recognize the evil we carry in our hearts, that we would not hide or deny the truth, but turn to you and your people in honest, open need, that we would find grace and love that leads to healing, through Jesus Christ our Lord, who in humility bore our sin and ascended to you and the Holy Spirit. Amen. ‘ For out of the heart come evil intentions, murder, adultery, fornication, theft, false witness, slander. These are what defile a person…’ – Matthew 15:19-20 How comfortable are you with acknowledging specific sins and sinful intentions to God? To others? To yourself? Are there things that you may be denying or hiding? Are you willing to let God show you things that might make you uncomfortable right now?
