Holy and indwelling Spirit, who knows the thoughts and intentions of our hearts, grant us insight into our true motivations, that we might release all those impulses that spring not from love and act out of the goodness that you have shown us, through Jesus our Lord, who abides in you with the Father in glorious union forever and ever. Amen.
‘For our appeal does not spring from deceit or impure motives or trickery, but, just as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the message of the gospel, even so we speak, not to please mortals but to please God, who tests our hearts.’ – 1 Thes. 2:3-4
