God of compassion, who tarries with those who abide in sorrow and suffering, help us to be okay with our grief and to stay present with ourselves as you are present with us, that as we go through pain, we would know you are there and would receive comfort from your gracious hand, through Jesus our brother, who endured pain for our sake and now lives with you and the Holy Spirit in joy forever.
