Holy God, king of all creation and all that ever shall be, may we be conscious of our sin and ruin when we come into your presence, that in humility and recognition of the truth, we would turn to you for mercy and forgiveness, trusting in your love to restore and sustain us, through Christ our redeemer, who died that we might live and was raised to live through you and the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
‘In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lofty, and the hem of his robe filled the temple. … And I said, “Woe is me! I am lost, for I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, yet my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts!”‘ – Isa. 6:1, 5
