A Collect to Become Listeners

Spirit of God, in whom we live and who lives in us, incline our hearts to stop and listen to you when we are afraid or at a loss in this tumultuous world, that our instinct would become one of looking to you and your wisdom and we would walk in step with what you are about in and around us, through Jesus Christ who reigns with you and the Father, one God, now and forever. Amen. ‘He did not know what to say, for they were terrified. Then a cloud overshadowed them, and from the cloud there came a voice, “This is my Son, the Beloved; listen to him!”‘ – Mark 9:6-7
