A Collect to See and Confess our Sins

Spirit of truth, our counselor who is closer than our breath, stir up in us a desire to see clearly our sins and faults and to confess them honestly, that we might be forgiven, made clean and able to walk in love and relationship with you, through Jesus Christ our savior, by whom we have access to your grace and that of our Father in heaven. Amen. ‘John the baptizer appeared in the wilderness, proclaiming a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. And people from the whole Judean countryside and all the people of Jerusalem were going out to him, and were baptized by him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins.’ – Mark 1:4-5
