Rabbi Jesus, who humbled yourself to take the nature of a servant, help us to be content with our place in the world, that we would not need status and praise to bolster our fragile hearts, but would find sufficient love in you and in your people to sustain us, through you who lives with the Father and Holy Spirit in perfect unity, now and forever. Amen. ‘They love to have the place of honor at banquets and the best seats in the synagogues, and to be greeted with respect in the marketplaces, and to have people call them rabbi.’ – Matthew 23:6-7
